Washington library levies almost four for four

Fort Vancouver’s levy is considered almost a lock to pass as of yesterday and Ocean Shore’s levy is now up by seven precious votes. Combined with the results in Clallam and Spokane counties, we’re seeing great support for libraries across Washington state.

What is heartening to me is that these districts run the gamut of communities in Washington state and can be closely compared to Timberland. Heck, Ocean Shores is inside our district, but they run their own library.

Clallam County is a mostly rural, timber based county, not unlike most of our district. And, while Fort Vancouver contains a lot of rural areas in multiple counties and it also has a large urban and suburban core. There are some lessons to be learned, for sure.
